Shell Tools is a free Windows extension that adds the following new commands to right-click menus of files and folders:
Resize to JPEG*, Copy file size, Copy file path, Show hidden files, Show super hidden files, Show file extensions, File note, Refresh icons, Map directory to Windows Sandbox and Install/Uninstall/Load/Unload font.
Supplied configuration program can enable the extension for either current user (no admin privileges required) or for all users.
*) Resize image functionality requires free ImageMagick graphics library to be also installed.
Need to quickly toggle visiblity of hidden files or file extensions? No problem – no more digging in Options window in Windows Explorer, just right-click directory background and choose “Show hidden files” or “Show file extensions”.
Need to quickly downsize one or more photos to post online? No problem – just right-click and choose desired size from “Resize to JPEG” submenu, which lists your pre-defined image sizes (needs ImageMagick).
Need to get list of file names from a folder? With full path or without? No problem – select the files and choose “Copy file name” from right-click menu.
Need to use a font that is not installed but you don’t want to permanently install it into system fonts folder? No problem – right-click the font and choose “Load” and the font will be loaded in place and will be available until you restart computer or unload it.
