License key is not accepted
A license key needs to be used with the same major version of a product it is issued for. An old license key usually does not work in the latest version, and a new one does not work in an old version.
If you just bought a license and want to install the latest version

Make sure you have the latest version of the product installed by invoking the menu command
Help | Check
for updates. If update checking does not work, you can manually see which version you have by invoking the menu commandHelp | About
and comparing the version number to the one on the product web page. If there is an update available, then install it. -
Copy your license key block from the email you received when ordering. The key code block consists of the “licensed to” name plus 2 or 3 lines of numbers. Select all lines of the key code block and copy them to the clipboard.

Paste the copied license key block into the
Enter license key
window in the product.
If you have purchased an older version in the past
If you have an old license key and do not want to upgrade to the latest version to receive a new license key, then follow these steps:

From the initial email you received with your license key code or from your notes, you should be able to detect for which version of the product it is issued.

Make sure you have that version of the product installed. Invoke menu command
Help | About
to see which version you have. If required, download an older version. -
Copy your license key block from the email you received when ordering. The key code block consists of the “licensed to” name plus 2 or 3 lines of numbers. Select all lines of the key code block and copy them to the clipboard.

Paste the copied license key block into the
Enter license key
window in the product.
