I am a VISTA user also. Our webmaster recommended that we use Font Xplorer. Is there a way I can use VISTA on documents we save as another type? I am not a computer expert but we are trying to find some modern fonts to use for our website about modern design. If we can use FX for this please let me know exactly what to do.
Does FX have fonts for me to use in its program or does FX just help add new fonts (that I find online) into my computer? I have found some free fonts online and would like to add them to my options in my MS Word or Outlook programs and for our website. How can I do this? Thank you very much!
FX does not contain any fonts, it is a font view and manager. It is not recommended on Vista until new version will be available.
You can install your downloaded fonts by dragging them to your system fonts folder (open it from Control Panel -> Fonts). If the files you downloaded are compressed in ZIP archives then you first need to extract font files from these.
For web site you generally can't use fonts that your users don't have installed unless you turn them into images.
HELP! Ohhh, I just don't know what to do without my Font Xplorer!! I just got a new computer and the nightmare began.. NO Windows XP, and even worse...NO Font Xplorer!! I've used FX for years and years, there's just nothing to compare it to! I've tried all these other font managers and viewers and they're just awful. Please, Please!! Hurry with a new version, I'd even be happy to pay for it! (again) :) I'm a font fanatic and have a ton of new fonts building up that I can't organize except one at a time! I love it and I'd be ohh so grateful to see a brand new FX!! Thank you so much for creating it in the first place!
