When can I buy version 2.x?
Will BUM2 be able to copy:
- open files
- files greater than 255 chars
Will BUM2 be multi-threaded?
32 & 64 bit?

Yes, it will be able to copy open files using VSS (Volume Shadow Service) and extended length Unicode file names. Both 32 and 64-bit. Public beta will be available in 3 weeks.

Interface is multi-threaded to be responsive but copy is single threaded as tests showed there is no speed gain in multi-threaded copy (disk is the bottleneck).

That's quite a surprise. I've use multi-threaded programs (like RichCopy -- free from Microsoft and an OK GUI for RoboCopy) and assumed that it was faster. I have fast asynchronous I/O SAS disks. I've never actually tested and compared single versus a 3-thread copy.
