There are 2 reasons why you may see the "Could not open INSTALL.LOG file" error message when trying to uninstall the program:
1) Usually this problem arises when file named "install.log" is missing from program folder. This file contains information about what files were copied during installation and is required to uninstall the program automatically using "Add/Remove program" applet. The "install.log" file may get deleted by some disk cleanup software that delete all files having .log extension. If you open your program installation folder and see no "install.log" file there, then you can't automatically uninstall the program. Instead, just delete the program folder and it's group under Start | Programs. None of our major program install files outside program folder.
2) If the "install.log" file is in your program folder, then probably there is something wong with uninstall information in the registry. On that case just double-click on the "uninstall.exe" file that is on the same folder and uninstallation screen should appear. If running uninstall.exe displays the same "Could not open INSTALL.LOG file" error message, then you probably have older uninstall program and need to drag "install.log" over "uninstall.exe" with the mouse and release mouse button. Then uninstall.exe will be started and install.log filename is passed on command line as a parameter.
Did the drag and drop thing with the "install.log" file over the "uninstall.exe" (that are both found in the same directory), same install, still getting the same "unable to open INSTALL.LOG" error. Next ideea?
